Bearrington had an Oprah Roast and Toast to celebrate the last Oprah Show.
We were featured at the beginning of the show.  The Gayle King Show  is on OWN TV.  The show was live and it was broadcast from Harpo Studios in Chicago.

The Johns Hopkins University  Center for Talented Youth

Thank you Johns Hopkins University for supporting bright young minds.

Houston Ballet
We would to thank the Houston Ballet and Ms. Lauren Anderson again for providing our students with ballet classes.  The students are now participating in spring classes.

Adopt-A-Classroom
Bearrington is now registered with Adopt-A-Classroom.  This organization invites the community into the classroom in support of teachers and their students.  By adopting a classroom, donors form partnerships with specific classrooms providing financial and moral support.  The result is a meaningful contribution to education in which donors experience the impact of their efforts and celebrate in a classroom's success.  Please see the Adopt-A-Classroom Information in your child's folder.
This week, the teachers will register their classroom and post their classroom needs.   Teachers will be allowed to purchase resources and materials for their classroom from a network of online vendors affiliated with Adopt-A-Classroom.

Partnership For A Healthier America
On behalf of the Partnership for a Healthier America and
Honorary Chair, First Lady Michelle Obama,
Bearrington has been recognized
for our efforts to promote healthier lifestyles
through participation in the Chefs Move! initiative.
We have just received a kit containing roughly
$2,000 worth of safe, easy to use cookware
that can be used in coordination with
our 'adopted' Chef Henry
to empower our teachers, parents, and students
to demonstrate healthy cooking.

The Concrete Garden
Thanks to all of you for donating plants to
Bearrington's Concrete Garden.
We can't wait until harvest time!

Bearrington Food Drive, Mini Food Pantry

Thank you for your donations of canned goods for Lilly Grove Baptist Church. The students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade loaded all of the food into the bus then traveled to Lilly Grove. Mr. Brandon Smith, father of Jocelyn Smith, coordinated the time for the drop-off.

When we arrived, Mr. Smith, Reverend Burkley, Minister of Outreach, Reverend Washington, Associate Pastor and members of Lilly Grove, met the children at the bus. The children took the canned goods into the church, talked for a few minutes and took a picture. Before we left, Reverend Burkley prayed with us. The children felt so good to perform this act of kindness. Reverend Burkley sent a nice letter thanking Bearrington. The letter is posted on the front bulletin board. We have decided to have a year-round food drive and stock the canned goods in our mini food pantry. Once each month we will deliver the food to Lilly Grove as a part of our mission to make life a better place for those who are in need.

We  are proud to announce that Bearrington has received a prestigious certification!  We have been recognized by the Texas State Center for Early Childhood Development as a
Texas School Ready!TM program!

Houston Ballet
Thank you Houston Ballet.  Thank you Ms. Lauren Anderson!
We look forward to Ballet Talks  in December and Chance to Dance  in January!
